1  Scholarship for Academic Performance
A
With Korean Language Proficiency
 

Eligibility
• Students with a Korean Proficiency Score (TOPIK) above Level 4 (at the time of the end of each semester)

Coverage​

HGU GPA between 2.0 ~ 2.49 HGU GPA between 2.5~3.49 HGU GPA between 3.5~3.99 HGU GPA between 4.0 and Above
30 % of Tuition as Scholarship 50 % of Tuition as Scholarship 70 % of Tuition as Scholarship 100 % of Tuition as Scholarship

Remark
- Excludes F4 VISA holders
- Only for students that take over 15 Credits
- Scholarship is only given within regular semesters
- Recipients must maintain the required GPA each semester to retain eligibility for the scholarship
- Covers (max) :
  - Freshman: 7 semesters
  - Sophomore: 5 semesters
  - Junior: 3 semesters

B
With English Language Proficiency
 

Eligibility
• Students with Possess an English Score (at the time of end of each semester)
• TOEFL iBT 85 and above
• IELTS Level 6.0 and above
• TEPS 600 and above (equivalent to New TEPS 327 and above)

Coverage​

HGU GPA between 3.5~3.99 HGU GPA between 4.0~4.29 HGU GPA between 4.3 and Above
50 % of Tuition as Scholarship 70 % of Tuition as Scholarship 100 % of Tuition as Scholarship

Remark
- Excludes students whose origins are from countries with English as the first language, as categorized by the Ministry of Justice, Korea (USA, Canada, S. Africa, UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand)
- Only for students that take over 15 Credits

Scholarship for Financially Unstable Students
 

Eligibility
• Students who are suffering from financial difficulties
• Undergraduate students (Exchange students and visiting students cannot apply)
• Students who enrolled within regular semesters (enrolled more than 9th semester students cannot apply)

Coverage​
400,000 KRW (one semester)

Remark
- Cornerstone Students, UFE dual-degree students CANNOT apply in accordance with the Ministry of Education's scholarship guidelines

Merit Scholarship
 

Eligibility
- Undergraduate students (Exchange students and visiting students cannot apply)
- Students who enrolled within regular semesters (enrolled more than 9th semester students cannot apply)

Remark
- Students without major (undeclared) will be selected without departmental division.
- Students with majors will be selected based on the same grade and same department.
- Students must take at least 17.5 credits except students from 8th semester.
- Students must obtain at least 9 credits of non P/F classes.
- Students with 1 F grade will be disqualified.

TA Scholarship
 

Eligibility
- Students who are assigned to an office and work as a TA.

Remark
- TA Scholarship can be benefited with other scholarships.

Servantship Scholarship
 

Eligibility
- Students who served on a student government organization

Coverage
- Full tuition or a set amount

※ Scholarship can be changed if the Scholarship Committee approves changes in the scholarship scheme.
- Only one scholarship will be awarded even if the student meets the criteria for multiple types of scholarship. Only applies to students who entered HGU from Fall 2020 Admission.
- Whoever receives a penalty from the penalty committee will be disqualified from the scholarship. Covers normal semesters only.
- Anyone receiving a scholarship based on false information/documentation will be disqualified promptly and must refund all scholarship awarded prior to the penalty being imposed.
- Students whose nationality or VISA status changes must report the status change to OIA as soon as possible. Anyone continuing to receive a scholarship without reporting a change will be disqualified from scholarships and must refund all scholarship awarded.
- Students who change their VISA status to F4 must report to OIA as soon as possible.
