Mostly, new students in other universities don’t have such an opportunity to be a part of the community. But Handong is different and it's especially important for international students to be a part of the community when they’re far away from their homes.

Handong helped me to develop my personality and define my priorities in my future career. I want to share my experience of this positive and loving community with others to show the real value this university offers.

I lived the Handong life through an unusual and difficult moment, the Coronavirus crisis. But this put under light how great and kind the student community was. I want to remain a part of it and give others a glimpse of what HGU could bring to them, as it brought to me. I feel that my story with Korea and HGU is not done yet, I wish to other students to begin one either. "

“I think studying at HGU is incredible opportunity. Korea is a beautiful country, the community at HGU is warm and welcoming and we can study subjects we could not at our home (Korean Studies.) As an Asian Studies major student, the two semesters I spent at HGU were very rewarding.  I would like to spread the word to my fellow so they will not be worried about not knowing Korean before coming here or think Pohang is too rural, even though we have a whole English speaking college and great classes here, and Pohang has everything we need in the everydays and it is in a good location for travels."
