Academics
Undergraduate
Construction Engineering
Construction Engineering can be divided into two tracks: Architecture and Civil Engineering. Students start with fundamental studies in Architecture Design, Urban Design, and Hydraulic Engineering. Furthermore, students also explore humanistic aspects of construction such as the history of space.

Architecture is a field that exists along with the entire history of human beings; it is a field that is deeply related to people’s daily lives. Therefore, Architects should have a sharp insight into human beings and their lifestyle, a philosophical and holistic mindset, and last but not least, a considerate and loving heart towards others.

With the Civil Engineering curriculum, students study fundamental engineering subjects related to the environment and ecosystem (e.g. environmental engineering, structural engineering, geotechnical foundation engineering, fluid engineering), and explore the subjects on civil infrastructure construction. By following the curriculum and participating in Seminars, engineering design, and internships, students can obtain insights into engineering and problem-solving ability, that construction engineers should be equipped with.
Architecture Track
The architecture track explores different building design methods such as U Theory. Students participate in case studies to obtain references and knowledge regarding architecture. Students also can experience many different approaches to building design.

Advanced Architecture Program: Curriculum recommended for students who want to major in Advanced Architecture, or students aiming for graduate school or job opportunities regarding architecture. To complete this curriculum, students shall receive 33 credits from Advanced Architecture Program courses, including 24 credits of architectural design courses (Architectural Design 1 ~ 5, Site Planning and Design).
Civil Engineering Track
Students delve into civil engineering courses, such as Geotechnique, Ocean Engineering, Structural Engineering, etc. Students will be able to utilize practical programs widely used in the professional fields such as MATLAB and MIDAS.
Story of Alumni
We study to give hope to others
The catchphrase of SESE is ‘Designeering for Others’; all the academic activities are conducted under the motive to build for others. SESE emphasizes not only the students’ competence in the field but also the value of loving others, such as caring for the marginalized and helping the developing countries.
SESE Alumni ‘Changing the World’
A group of SESE alumni reached out to Southeast Asia to ‘Change the World’, and launched startups such as “Group NIBC”, “Handong E&C”, and “NIBI School”. Especially, Group NIBC is a construction company established by a group of SESE students who gathered with a calling for education and business missions. Under the theme of ‘honest management’ and ‘work for the poor’, NIBC runs a housing and urban development business for the poor. They also run an education business by establishing a Christian Kindergarten, with their business profits. Now, NIBC has become a company that is respected by Vietnamese society.
Career Paths
SESE graduates can either get a job or enter graduate school. Many graduates are now studying in prestigious graduate schools in Europe and America. Moreover, graduates in their job field are not only active domestically but also internationally, including the US, Japan, Southeast Asia, Latin America, etc.
