As part of the UNESCO UNITWIN project, Handong Global University (President Dosoung Choi) collaborated with the University of Rwanda and Rwanda Polytechnic from July 17th to 21st to hold the 'AI-Powered Next Generation Entrepreneurship Training' in Kigali, Rwanda.

The training program involved a team of instructors from Handong Global University and Impactive AI. Professor Beom Ha Ji and Hyegyu Lee from the School of Management and Economics at Handong Global University, along with Professor Doohee Chung from the School of Global Entrepreneurship and ICT, participated as instructors. Additionally, Dr. Cheol Hyun Jeong, Eun Chang Choi, and Seo Young Kang from 'Impactive AI' also joined as instructors. They collectively provided theoretical education on topics such as artificial intelligence (AI), information communication technology (ICT), big data, management, finance, marketing, and corporate ethics to 112 Rwandan professors and students. Moreover, the Rwandan participants formed teams to plan business ideas and underwent practical training, including final presentations and evaluations.

This program marked the first in-person camp held in Rwanda after the 'Next Generation Entrepreneurship Training' organized by Handong Global University's UNITWIN in 2019. It was conducted locally this year to cater to the continuous demand for entrepreneurship training from partner universities in Rwanda and to deliver effective educational content. Notably, the program was tailored to focus on technology entrepreneurship, AI, machine learning, and related fields based on the demand from local universities in Rwanda.

President Dosoung Choi of Handong Global University expressed hope that through this training program, young entrepreneurs in Rwanda can become the foundation for economic development in the country. Likewise, Sylvie MUCYO, the President of Rwanda Polytechnic, conveyed her gratitude to the Handong Global University team for their active response to the technological entrepreneurship education requests from Rwanda's universities and expressed her anticipation that this camp will serve as a catalyst for more Rwandan youth to embark on entrepreneurship ventures."

The overall coordinator of this program, Professor Beom Ha Ji from Handong Global University, stated, "The Rwanda Next Generation Entrepreneurship Training Program does not merely focus on learning and mastering technology. Instead, it emphasizes approaching various social issues from different perspectives and fostering creative thinking to gradually develop solutions. Through this program, we hope to exchange diverse knowledge and experiences, and ultimately discover entrepreneurial ideas that can address societal problems in Rwanda."

Through the UNITWIN project, Handong Global University plans to provide ongoing higher education training programs and mentoring to professors and students from partner universities in Rwanda, aiming to cultivate talents and discover young entrepreneurs within the country.
