On January 30, President Soon-Heung Chang of HGU, visited Wheaton College, located in Illinois, in the U.S. to discuss measures to further enhance exchange programs for students and to promote research.
President Chang had a meeting with President Philip Ryken, of Wheaton College; the Deputy Dean, Margaret Didams of the Academic School; and the Dean, Lora Mongomerri, of the International Affairs School. During the event, President Chang discussed on the expansion of student exchanges and professor exchanges. He also promoted joint research projects, exchange programs for credits, creative education and leadership, and measures to discuss Christian education.
Both Presidents found they had the same educational goals to nurture the next generation of talents through excellent education based on Christian faith. and the mentioned they would have in-depth discussions through working-level talks.
On January 31, President Chang met with the Korean professors working at Wheaton College. They shared opinions to expand the exchange measures between HUG and Wheaton College. Professors of Wheaton College introduced various educational programs and research projects. The professors also gave their expectations for joint research project cooperation.
President Chang said, "I am glad that I visited Wheaton College. It is one of the prestigious colleges nurturing Christian leaders, including Pastor Billy Graham. I look forward to working together to nurture Christian leaders who will change the world through close cooperation between our schools."
Wheaton College was established in 1860 as a Christian university. Wheaton signed an exchange agreement with HGU in January 2015. Wheaton was selected as one of the best institutions in undergraduate school education in the Preston Review University Evaluation. It is known as a prestigious school that nurtured the Chairman of the US National Assembly and Pastor Billy Graham. The school has various courses on Applied Health, Biology, and Business Administration with 200 professors and 2,900 students.
