January 30, 2017, President Soon-Heung Chang of HGU visited the U.S. Department of Energy's Argonne National Laboratory. The research institute is the first national research institute in the US. It was established in 1964. Now the institute is considered one of the prestigious laboratories in the U.S. as well as in the world.
President Chang discussed future cooperative measures in the field of advanced science including energy and artificial intelligence with the major leadership group; Director Paul K. Kearns and the Deputy Director Jeff Binder of the U.S. Department of Energy's Argonne National Laboratory.
Argonne National Laboratory is a science and engineering research national laboratory operated by the University of Chicago Argonne LLC for the United States Department of Energy. It is the largest national laboratory by size and scope in the Midwest. Today it maintains a broad portfolio in basic science research, energy storage and renewable energy, environmental sustainability, supercomputing, and national security.
