January 31, Handong Global University hosted a conference under the theme of “Business Management Global Strategy” targeting graduate school students, professors, and businessmen as part of UNESCO UNITWIN. The joint course had the support of the Scientific and Educational Center for Corporate Governance of Uzbekistan.
The Joint educational course with Uzbekistan was opened in January 2015. This course shared Korea’s economic experiences and management know-how. This course nurtured experts and businessmen in economic policy to become the core players of economic development through economic analyzation and start-up education in this era of privatization of governmental enterprises after the fall of socialism. In the mid-term to long-term, the course aims to bring quality enhancement of education through the capacity building of professors in Uzbekistan.
In the Joint educational course with Uzbekistan, professors in the Management and Economic Departments of Handong Global University, Gachon University, and Konkuk University worked together. During this conference, business control structures, production management, information technology and management, and business privatization were addressed.
Handong Global University is planning to share educational know-how in the management field by dispatching a long-term professor to the Scientific and Educational Center for Corporate Governance of Uzbekistan for one semester. This will provide guidance and lectures for long term cooperation after the conference.
According to Jinwon Ahn, professor of HGU, “Uzbekistan is at a critical turning point politically and economically . This conference is a venue for students, professors, and related staff of government organizations and enterprises to develop the future of Uzbekistan.”
Professor Mamurjon Rahimov of the Scientific and Educational Center for Corporate Governance said, “Uzbekistan businesses can find their future path after the era of globalization since socialism is no longer in place. The successes and failures of Korean business management will assist in developing the mindset of Uzbekistanis during this time.”
