The ‘Hanbakutum’ Activity Group on Gambling Prevention Problems of Handong Global University received the Participation Award at the Hongwon Training Institute located in Paju, Gyeonggi Province at the ‘2016 University Gambling Problem Preventative Evaluation Competition in November.
The top five universities among the thirty participating universities nationwide were designated and in this evaluation competition. The Korean Gambling Problem Training Institute shared major examples and ideas by presenting gambling problem preventative activities.
‘Hanbakutum’, operated by the Addiction Rehabilitation Team of Handong Global University provided three domestic campaigns. This gave preventative education on gambling problems. Ten self-designed planning campaigns and other campaigns were hosted twice.. In addition, various preventative activities including a united campaign with Pohang Addiction Management Center, Insung Hospital, the Internet Shelter Center, the Bukgu Health Center, and the Daegu Gambling Problem Management Center.
ART was established in 2014 under the School of Counselling Psychology & Social Welfare of Handong Global University and under the leadership of Professor Sungman Shin. The Twenty members are promoting addiction related research, learning, and preventative activities.
