This is one of the science technology support projects in the developing countries of the Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning hosted by Handong Global University. This project aims to develop the local community in Nepal through the dissemination of appropriate technology based start-ups and businesses. In particular, the required technology that is developed during the workshops will be developed with the research staff of the local university and World Friends Korea-TPC.
In this workshop there were many topics covered. Some of the topics were: the economic development of Korea, the spirit and worldview of entrepreneurs, the environment of Nepal, the project and technology community, the design drafts, project development, and market surveys and plans. Related experts from Handong Global University, Nepal Ashoka Fellows, and the Board of Directors of Nepal Central Bank delivered lectures.
In this workshop, forty local people from six regions of Nepal including local community leaders, international assistants, and trainees of Korea’s Saemaul Movement learned together. The participants were divided into seven teams. The teams developed specified factories for processing fruit produced in Nepal, harvesting and processing agricultural products, pure powdered milk processing, aqua culture development, insulation systems for schools and houses, egg distribution projects, organic natural fertilizer and agricultural chemicals were developed. NITEC is planning to support product development and will provide consulting for items with high feasibility of success.
