Handong Global University received the 'University Institution Assessment Certification’ in the 2nd Cycle. This was implemented by the Korean University Institution of the Korean Council for University Institution.
The University Institution Assessment Certification System was implemented for five years at the Korean University Education Institute. The certification guarantees the quality of the university by providing the assessment results to Korean society. The goal is to improve the educational quality of Korean universities. This is considered a social responsibility of the university. Students who attend the university then are assured their studies will allow for international mobility.
To be eligible for the assessment certification six essential criteria must be met: the full time teacher rating, the teacher rating, the freshmen rating, the enrollment rate, the educational expense rate, and the scholarship rate. The certification is approved based on ten evaluation sectors and thirty evaluation criteria.
Handong Global University received a “Pass” in all five of the assessment criteria as well as the six core assessments. The certification is valid from February 2017 to the end of January 2022.
According to the staff of HGU said, "HGU received good results in global education, creative and converged education, human character education, and start-ups education. The University was also strong in our specified educational policies and excellent educational environment. The strong passion of our members led to this good result."
