Team System & Residential College System

Team system and Residential College(RC) is a unique fellowship system of Handong. All students in Handong are assigned to an RC and a team. In the Residential College (RC) system, students will be placed in a team with approximately 30 other students from different grades and majors and supervised by a team professor who provides mentorship. Students live in dormitory with team members, and experience fellowship by going to chapel and having team meetings together.

Carmichael RC

International students are assigned to ‘Carmichael RC’. Carmichael College (International House), founded in 2013, is the first International Residential College in Handong Global University. The motto of the Carmichael family is “ToujourPrest” which means “Always Ready.” Thus, Carmichael RC students seek, by God’s grace, to be “always ready” to listen, learn, grow and serve together. This special RC offers unique events, such as sport competitions, local excursions, and cultural events showcasing the sights, sounds and tastes of the nations represented by its members.

Every semester, Carmichael RC holds special events such as Bingo Night, Carmichael Cupid, Carmichael Breakfast, Festival of Nations (only fall semester), End of Semester Banquet, and more! Some events also provide a platform for international students to showcase their culture through performances or exhibitions. Consider bringing something from back home to share here!

Team Meeting

Each member of Handong is placed in a team with approximately 30 other students from different backgrounds and majors, supervised by a team professor who monitors students’ well-being and provides timely advice. Being in a team will help you make friends and enjoy many fun activities together. Teams meet once a week on Wednesdays for social, recreational events, team-building experiences, and attending Chapel.

Freshmen Helpers

Freshmen Helpers are volunteer experienced students who serve and show loving care for the freshmen, transfer, and exchange students. They help with registering for class, personal relationships, and becoming accustomed to campus life. They are assigned to a team and take care of about 8~10 new Handong students.
