“Strengthening practical problem-solving capabilities”...Creative Thinking and Strategic Leadership Education

Handong Global University (President Choi Dosoung) unveiled the initial results of the innovation education course it is running in cooperation with the Minerva Project. The collaboration aims to strengthen creative thinking and strategic leadership capabilities needed in the AI era.

Students who took the Minerva program and faculty members gathered for the final showcase at 7:00 p.m. on December 9. The learning outcomes of the Creative and Decisive Thinking course, which was newly introduced this semester, were highlighted.

The showcase presented solutions to real-world social issues such as community-university cooperation, campus resource management, and climate crisis response. The projects were developed by students from Korea, the U.S., Spain, Kenya, Nepal, and other countries, and drew attention for their innovative solutions from a global perspective.

Yoon Joo-won (23), a student of Global Leadership who participated in the program, said, “I was able to develop my practical skills through the field-oriented problem-solving methodology,” and added, “The sharing event became a platform for participants to exchange experiences and discover new solutions.”
Since the second semester of the 2024 academic year, Handong Global University has been offering four courses with the Minerva Project in 16 classes.

This is an innovative educational model that goes beyond simple knowledge transfer and combines Learning Outcomes (LOs) and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), focusing on strengthening active problem-solving capabilities required in the digital age.
