President Dosoung Choi of Handong Global University attended the annual conference of the Consortium of Global Education, held William Carey University in Mississippi, USA, on the 28th. In his keynote speech, he emphasized the need for a paradigm shift in university education to better prepare students for an era characterized by high volatility, uncertainty, complexity, and ambiguity.

President Dosoung Choi particularly emphasized that in an age where generative artificial intelligence is replacing human intelligence, universities need to transition from traditional lecture-based education to learning-application/sharing education. This shift is necessary for students to acquire interdisciplinary knowledge that transcends various academic fields. President Choi argued that for this type of education to be realized, students must actively participate in real-world problem-solving in domestic and international regions, as well as in industry settings.

In addition, President Dosoung Choi introduced Handong Global University's upcoming "Glocal University 30" project and discussed ways to collaborate with foreign university presidents. He conveyed that university presidents from overseas, like those in Korea, share a sense of crisis, and both American and Korean universities are willing to join hands and work together to address challenges.

Officials from the Consortium of Global Education especially praised President Dosoung Choi's keynote speech, noting that it accurately addressed current issues while demonstrating a strong commitment to collaborative efforts for solutions, at a time when universities have been seeking answers amid challenges such as a shortage of enrollment resources and the advancement of artificial intelligence.

The Consortium of Global Education is an association of over 30 years representing Christian universities in the southern United States, with 30 to 40 member universities.
