The Handong Global University Team Awarded the Poster Presentation Award at the 2023 American Psychological Association Annual Convention
A team comprising undergraduate and graduate students from the School of Counseling Psychology and Social Welfare at Handong Global University received the Poster Presentation Award at the 2023 American Psychological Association (APA) Annual Convention held in Washington D.C. in August.
The team, consisting of Jin Hee Yu (2nd year graduate student in Psychology), Juhee Lim (1st year graduate student in Psychology), Hanna Lim (1st year graduate student in Psychology), Daeun Park (graduate of Social Welfare), Yehoon Jung (2nd year graduate student in Human-Tech Convergence), and Professor Sungman Shin, secured the 1st place award and the other team, consisting of Hee Hoon Chae (1st year graduate student in Human-Tech Convergence), Hayoung Kim, Minjeong Kim, and Yechan Hwang (all graduates of the School of Counseling, Psychology, and Social Welfare at Handong Global University), along with Ana Graciela from Universidad Catolica San Pablo, secured 2nd place award.
The first-place team conducted research on 'Recovery Stages of Individuals with Mental Disorders: Focusing on Latent Profile Analysis.' Jin Hee Yu expressed, 'Based on this valuable experience, I will redouble my efforts to develop expertise for individuals recovering from mental disorders.'
The second-place team received the award for their research on 'Development of Group Programs for Reducing Addictive SNS Use Among Latin American College Students in Korea.' Hee Hoon Chae remarked, 'I am delighted that the research I conducted on a topic and target population of personal interest has received recognition.'
Professor Sungman Shin from the School of Counseling Psychology and Social Welfare stated, 'This is a remarkable result of students dedicating themselves to significant research topics and collaborating effectively. As their advisor, I am extremely pleased with their efforts.'"
