November 30, Joyful Church’s Reverend Ji-hoon Cho delivered 7.4 million won to Handong Global University for the Joshua Scholarship and Handong Manna Project.
“One of the important jobs of the Korean church is to nurture and encourage people. That’s why we started to send scholarships to join this work, from our church. In addition we try to support the Handong Manna Project to provide a small assistance to students who skip their meals.” Reverend Ji-hoon Cho said.
Joyful Church considers the power of the church in of the 21st century is not from buildings or programs but comes from the power of prayer. The church is located in Ilsandongu, Goyang city, Gyeonggi. Reverend Ji-hoon Cho graduated from the School of International Studies, Languages & Literature, of Handong Global University. He is focusing on supporting the children of pastors and the children of missionaries.
Handong Global University started the Joshua Scholarship to support the children of pastors and the children of missionaries who are faced with difficulties in preparing for school enrollment and living expenses each September.
The Handong Manna Project is a supportive program for those who are faced with financial difficulties. This provides meals to help those in need focus on academic learning. For those students who have financial difficulties can eat meals valued at 2,800 won with just 100 won.
