The Stetson International Environmental Mock Moot is considered one of the prestigious competitions among mock moots. This event focused on international environmental law and aimed to use competition to show the qualifications of lawyers. In this competition was centered around problems related to international law and legal jurisdictions of the International Court of Justice under the theme of ‘Marine Disputes and the Diversity of Marine Organisms’.

Fifty law students on fourteen teams from seven countries such as: the U.S., China, Taipei, and Nepal joined in this competition. Katmandu University Team of Nepal received the grand prize and Harim Ahn received the best Oral Statement.

Handong’s Team was qualified to join the final round of international competition. The team will go to Stetsons University, Florida State, in the U.S. This will provide another opportunity to compete through a mock moot.

According to Dahae Lee, “I would like to express my deepest gratitude to God who granted the big prize to our team. We are undergraduate school students with so much to learn. My thanks go to professors of HILS, seniors of the Law & Advocacy Association, and student Yeongkwang Lee who supported my preparations for this event based on his victory last year. I will do my best to achieve good results in the global competition by preparing thoroughly for this event. “

Professor John Shin, advisor for Law & Advocacy said, “We cannot say that our team received this prize thanks to our excellent competency. Through the uncertainties, we are sure that God led us. When Moses confessed that he has no power in Exodus, God led him. In the same way, God led our team. As a result, we received the 2nd place award. I want to get closer to God as I prepare for the next competition.”
