Student Chelee Chun, receiving the Grand Prize at the ‘Training, Learning, and Experiencing Content Idea Contests’ by using Virtual Reality.

On December 14, Student Chelee Chun, from the School of Contents and Convergence Design of Handong Global University received the Grand Prize at the ‘Training, Learning, and Experiencing Content Idea Contests’ using Virtual Reality. The contest was hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and co-organized by the Korean Electronics Technology Institute and Virtual Training System Industry Forum. 

This contest was prepared to seek the potential utilization fields of virtual training technology through this new business model contest. The goal was to generate ideas that could be utilized in daily life.

Chelee Chun participated in the team with Haeyeon Park. The team developed a business model using big data accumulated from people’s emotional changes from VR simulation. This suggestion was highly praised since this  raised the possibility of popularization for the VR market. Most ordinary people had never had such experiences.

Student Chelee Chun said, “I wanted to participate in this contest without big expectations. It was a great surprise  to receive this great award. I learned about the possibilities and uses of VR through this opportunity.”

To the prize winners received 2 million won of prize money, a plaque, and a certificate of merit. The prize winners will be recruited to Incruit, a Virtual Reality Professional company. In addition, the work of the prize winners will be reflected in new technology development projects of the government.  

In this competition, 143 proposals were registered. The final eight proposals were selected through first and second evaluations. The grand, best, and excellent award winners delivered presentations at the Virtual Training System Industrial Forum which was held at Sangamdong Stanford Hotel on last 14^th. In the event hall, their works were displayed.
