The Human Talent Nurturing Foundation Converged in Energy and Environment in Gyeongbuk and East Coast is the CK Regional Strategic Foundation hosted by Handong Global University and with participation from Postech. The Foundation is promoting a project to create and operate an eco-friendly eco-learning complex supported by Pohang city. This project is expected to enhance the well-being of local citizens. The educational complex will be available for the next generation as well as great place for today’s students.
The Foundation hosted the ‘Clean Eco-Garden Type Learning Complex Idea Contest’ to develop creative and practical ideas. The theme was related to renewable energy, irrigation facilities, eco- experiences, and facilities for children. Any undergraduate school student could participate in the contest during November.
On December 7, the awards ceremony was held on the 1st floor of the SPACE ARK, Start-ups Incubation Center. There was one grand prize winner, three excellence awards, and two participation prizes among the teams.
Various ideas were submitted such as an energy playground, palm cloud service, the Internet of Things, the creation of a fleshy plant garden, recycling, eco-experiences and renewable energy technology.
According to Youngkwang Kwon, from the School of Mechanical Control Engineering and the grand prize winner, “I was very appreciated the chance to design a school eco-garden. I always wanted to create such a garden. I think the magnificent of nature was promoted through this project. I want to be an engineer to love and restore nature with this experience.”
