Handong Global University Provided Global Entrepreneurship Training with 27 Future Leaders of Developing Countries

From October 31 to November 4, 2016, Handong Global University hosted the Global Entrepreneurship Training at headquarters.

 

In the training, fifty-five people including government officials, entrepreneurs, and students from 27 developing countries including Nigeria and Nepal participated. For five days, the program proceeded and researchers, coordinators, and student research assistants worked together.

 

GET is a program to provide practical human talents in developing countries after the designation of HGU as a university of UNESCO UNITWIN; University Twining and Networking in 2007.

 

As of today, 2,600 graduates were nurtured in Korea, Kenya, Ghana, Laos, and Peru. The program was hosted 18times.Strengthening sustainable development competency in developing countries was accomplished through awareness of the reforms needed to strengthen the sustainable development competency and nurture economic development leaders and international entrepreneurship ventures.

 

This program consisted of lectures by professors and experts of related institutions. Practice through small group gatherings were done in the afternoons. During the evening, presentations on business plans were delivered and reviewed by judges. On November 4, the last day of the program, the business proposal completion was held.

 

In GET, there were many lectures. Kihong Kim presented the Mindset of the Business Spirit, the Creative Innovation and Entrepreneurship Spirit, Start-up Business & Effective Business Plans. Professor Yong Lee spoke on Fiancé and Accounting for Start-ups. Professor Edward Pernel presented Business Law, and Business Ethics and Intellectual Property Rights. Professor Byumha Ji instructed on Strategic Planning. Professor Abraham Lee lectures on Marketing for Start-ups. Professor Youngjoon Choi spoke on Entrepreneurial Leadership. Dr. Woo-sung Lee of the Science Technology Policy Research Institute, and Manager of Sunmi Gu of Asam Small Business Eco-friendly Innovation Center also delivered a presentation. 

 

According to President Soon-Heung Chang, “I look forward to learning that the participants of each country will learn entrepreneurship and establish a global network with different countries through the GET program. This will contribute to the ongoing circle of the local economy.”
