On October 26, 2016, Handong Global University and Geumjeong Foundation for Art and Culture signed an agreement for educational donations and cooperation.

According to the agreement, both institutions mutually agreed to create and disseminate an infrastructure of educational donations. They will provide educational donation programs, and develop new educational donation programs. There will also be a program to match and promote educational donations.

After making the agreement, the Geumjeong Foundation for Art and Culture promoted the UN International Activity Club Project for middle and high school students in Busan. By promoting international campaigns students can begin to understand global citizenship. The following programs were promoted: the Global Citizen Education Contests, the UN International Day of Peace for Global Citizens, and the Earth hour, For elementary school students, a World Heritage Class will be provided.

Professor Jae-young Lee, Chief of the Academic-industry Cooperation Foundation at HGU said, “I really appreciate all the related staff of Geumjeong Foundation for Art and Culture for providing various educational donation programs in the culture and art fields. Through the foundation, it is expected that many youth in Busan will experience international activities.”

According to Chief Youngsung Seol of Geumjeong Foundation for Art and Culture, “It is my pleasure to sign an agreement with the Academic-industry Cooperation Foundation of HGU. Geumjeong Foundation for Art and Culture will provide a program to support youth. Young people will be able to grow as global citizens through the UN International Activity Club Project and the World Heritage Class.”

The Educational Donation Center of Handong Global University constantly develops educational donation institutions in Gyeongsang Province. This is creating an educational donation culture. These donations actively develop customized programs matching the needs of the recipients.

The Geumjeong Foundation for Art and Culture promotes culture and art. It puts forth effort to support the creation and establishment of a network of cultural art. The Foundation also operates Foundations for Culture and Art. The Foundation works to nurture comprehensive culture and art development. In addition, the Foundation is contributing to the promotion of culture and art promotion and dissemination through various cultural projects. These efforts include the development of specialized of youth culture and capacity enhancement of global culture.
