October 1, 2016, Professor Jaeyoung Lee of the School of Mechatronic Control Engineering, at Handong Global University was appointed as a Chair Professor of POSCO.
According to this position, Professor Lee will plan and promote research cooperative measures for the development of technology at POSCO as an Associate University of the Mechanical Sector for the next three years.
Professor Lee received his doctoral degree from the Atomic and Quantum Engineering Department at KAIST. He was appointed as a Professor of Handong Global University in 1996. He is continuing his work as a Professor of Handong Global University and showing excellent research results in heat-related steel processing and the steel energy system field.
Professor Lee actively promoted research on the transfer phenomenon of steel and energy processing, the enhancement of processing efficiency and thrust, and the development of new technology for waste heat recovery and soft energy recovery.
Professor Lee’s research results and his social activities both in Handong and other societies played an important role in this appointment.
Recently, Professor Lee promoted the ‘Creative Korea Project.’ This is one of the human talents in energy and environment fields jointly developed by the faculty of Handong Global University and POSTECH. Professor Lee is working as the Dean of the Office of Future Technology Academic-Industry Research of Handong and he is the Head of the Korean Nuclear Society with its headquarters in Daegu·Gyeongbuk.
Professor Lee has promoted research activities related to a cooling spray for steel processing and waste heat development technology. It is expected that his technology development research will prosper with the close cooperation of POSCO as a Chair Professor.
