From September 29 to 30, at the Academic Information Center of Handong Global University, ‘The Excellent Business Employment Event’ was held. Twenty seven businesses joined together to introduce their company. The event was prepared to strengthen students’ employment competitiveness through information and counseling.
The event was hosted by the University Creative Job Center and the Office of Student Career Development, at HGU. Businesses were invited so the high school students and College students of Uljin and Youngduk could participate in this event.
According to Dupil Kang, Director of the University Creative Job Center, “Our Center serves as a hub of employment and start-ups for Pohang, Gyeongbuk and the Dongbu Area. Furthermore, our Center has prepared various kinds of projects. Some of these projects are: the Employment and Start-ups Exhibition in conjunction with Pohang city; Pohang Creative Economic & Innovative Center”
Various kinds of employment-support events were held. The following were provided: ‘Image Making’ to prepare for a job, ‘Personal Color Diagnosis’ to find the right color for each person, ‘The Resume Clinic and Mock Interview with Feedback’, ‘Documents for Jobs and Interview Consultations’, and ‘Taking Identification Pictures for job Applications’.
One of the participants, Jaehong Lee said, “The picture taking was easy and good. To learn the ways to wear make-up and find my colors will be very helpful when I have an interview.”
Starting in the morning, many students lined up in front of the booth that interested them. Heesung Lee, who received the Consulting of GIC Global Internship, said, “Students usually had a hard time finding information for internships or finding a job abroad. I resolved the difficult problems here after the consultations.” Also, Jaewon Jung, who received consulting of Erum Design Skin Enterprise, said, “I found what many workplaces in various fields require of applications. I can now confirm that we have many opportunities.”
According to Minjae Cho who gave a special lecture, ‘To know the hidden champion and the mid-size business properly’. She enhanced the understanding of mid-size businesses and hidden champion businesses. “I didn’t know about mid-size businesses but found out there are good firms that pay well and provide a good working environment.”
Team Manager Byeong Chang Ju mentioned, “We invited un-known mid-size firms and provided various programs. I hope that students can have more interest in excellent mid-size firms. This will extend their choices for finding a job.”
