On September 29, Handong Global University had an opening ceremony for the Creative Job Center. In the opening ceremony, fifty people including: President Soon-Heung Chang; Byeong yoon Jung of Economics for Gyeongsangbukdo Province; Director Jongtae Kim, of the Employment Capacity Building Development Center of Daegu University; related staff of Gyeongsangbukdo Province; Pohang city, and related organizations attended. The introduction of distinguished guests, reports on projects, a luncheon, congratulatory remarks from major guests, and the hanging board followed.

In the opening ceremony, President Soon-Hung Chang said, “My highest objective is to contribute to regional development. When I was inaugurated as the President of Handong Global University, I made development a priority. Our Center will serve as a venue to develop our regional areas by providing necessary jobs for specialized high school and college students.”

The Center will operate various kinds of employment programs, provide career counselling, job and start-ups consulting, and will provide operating employment policy governance to minimize unemployment and achieve successful employment in the Gyeongbuk Dongbu Area.

In particular, the Center reduces the search job time by providing information on start-ups and employment. This function occurs within the school and enhances access to employment policies of the national and local governments. In addition, the Center supports soon to be graduates, as well as students in their first and second years of designing their careers.

The Center offers various career development and start-ups & employment opportunities through the National Competence Standard based employment camp. They also lead the start-ups competition, and connect students to internship programs in abroad.

The Center supports local youth employment by hosting the ‘Excellent Job Employment Festival’ from September 29 to 30.

Deputy Governor Byeong Yoon Jung of the Economics Department of Gyeongsangbukdo Province, said, “We have high expectations of the Creative Job Center of Handong. At this time people have difficulty finding a job due to the global economic recession. I hope that through the job matching program, students can find a decent job and businesses can find qualified workers.”
