On August 9, 2016, Handong Global University signed an agreement on academic-industry cooperation with the Korean Physical Therapy Association, of Gyeongbuk Province. In this signing ceremony, related staff, President Chang and President Lee participated.
Both institutions agreed to put joint effort into participation and cooperation in academic-industry joint research, on-site experiences and practical support, as well as volunteer activities.

The signing ceremony included related staff, President Soon-heung Chang of Handong Global University and the Korean Physical Therapy Association, of Gyeongbuk Province.
The School of Mechanical Control Engineering and School of ICT Start-ups of Handong Global University are promoting research on rehabilitation monitoring devices for hospitals and patients. This will develop useful rehabilitation information by monitoring rehabilitation training. With this agreement conclusion, it is expected that data regarding rehabilitation treatment of patients will be easily accumulated, analyzed, and utilized for the rehabilitation treatment plans of the patients.
President Soon-heung Chang said, “Handong Global University newly opened the School of ICT Start-ups in order to strengthen ICT convergence education and start-ups capacity. HGU will seek to improve local employment and start-ups by collaborating with local enterprises and organizations in academic-industry cooperation. I sincerely hope that this agreement will bring active exchanges in the field of academic-industry cooperation. This will create an organic cooperation system to bring mutual benefits.”
