This contribution allowed Handong Global University to replace seventy-two old pieces of furniture on the fifth floor of Grace Hall with new ones. Grace Hall was established in 2007 with the prayers and support of the parents. The parents were excited to refurbish this dorm since they were the ones who helped build the dorm. All the participants attached the stickers that engraved the parent supporters’ names on the new furniture in the dorm.
President Chang said, “I really appreciate the Parents’ Prayer Group of Handong Global University. They have unified warmhearted minds to improve the dorm life of the students. HGU will continue to create a better environment so all the students of Handong will be able to focus on their studies. I cordially ask your continued prayers for our school and students. The ‘Handong Manna Project’ aims to provide meals for those with financial needs who skip meals. This Project will be initiated during the second semester. The cost of breakfast will be lowered to 2,000 won so that students will maintain their health and have a healthy start to their day.”
According to Kang-in Lee, the President of the Parents’ Prayer Group, “I felt sad when I heard that students faced inconveniences due to the old furniture in Grace Hall, built with the prayers and support of the parents. I really appreciate all the many parents’ support in this campaign. I sincerely hope that students can move forward and study in this better environment. We want to nurture a sense of community. We, the parents, were thankful that this campaign has served as a venue to replace all the old furniture in Grace Dorm. “
