At the Korean ‘Government 3.0 Display Festival’, June 19 to 22, HGU’s Establishment of a Smart· Fintech Campus was displayed as an excellent case in Gyeongsangbukdo Province. The event was held at COEX, Seoul, as part of a way of life of the Government 3.0. The aim was to introduce core achievements of the Government 3.0 and to point towards Gyoungsangbukdo’s future direction. The event was co-hosted in every sector by public enterprises in provinces, cities, and counties. Not only were major achievements of the Government 3.0 shown, but also successful examples of creative economic innovations were displayed to connect innovation and creation of future growth engines for the Province.
The Establishment of a Smart· Fintech Campus at HGU was Displayed as an excellent case in Gyeongsangbukdo Province. In the booth, the established service at HGU campus was provided for visitors to experience.
The series of process were shown: taking a shuttle bus by using the Near Field Communication (NFC) student card, checking attendance by using the attendance check service, and paying for a meal cost based on Fintech at the cafeteria.
In addition, by using the library management system based on NFC, the participants experienced borrowing books and choosing seats. In particular, Pohang is promoting the new Pohang economy through Yangduk Plaza Fintech Establishment Pilot Project. The Project will revitalize start-ups for SMEs using the Fintech know-how of Handong Global University. The booth, showed the ways to manage consumers, utilize discounts and points by using mobile services only available for SMEs.
In addition, the I-taxi application was introduced utilizing the smart campus system. This application is a carpool service for taxis and cars. The students of Handong are actively utilizing this application. The Mobile Dutch Pay also us available through Fintech technology. Payment costs will be calculated automatically so payments and the remittance are done easily. The Smart campus of Handong Global University has developed ideas through close cooperation with Pohang and aims to spread this technology to the areas all of Gyeongsangbukdo.
At last year’s ‘Government 3.0 Display Festival’, 156 displays and experience tours were operated. A bout 40,000 people visited. Gyeongsangbukdo displayed the Smart Cooperative Group Community/ Happy and Healthy Village 3.0. Pregnancy, Birth, and Childcare Information for moms were displayed under the slogan of ‘Happy Gyeongbuk World for people’.
