President Soon-heung Chang delivered a lecture on ‘The Importance of Spreading out the Gospel and the Role of the Church as the Light and Salt in of the World’ in the General Assembly and at the Retreat for the Pastor’s Wives’ Union in South Korea. Three hundred pastors and pastor’s wives’ were joined in this special lecture.
In the lecture that was delivered twice, President Chang expressed the importance of the gospel and spreading the gospel by saying that, “The way to love God the most is to spread God’s love to your neighbor. The way to love your neighbor the most is to share the gospel. This will bring the living Word to our neighbors.” This was presented in his first lecture themed ‘Faith, Human Character, and Creativity’.
With this, President Chang introduced the 5C Mission Work he developed with five categories for five minutes: (Old Testament: Creation, God, the Beginning), CRIME (Sin, Adam, Human), New Testament: CHRIST (the Savior, Jesus, Redemption), Church (Holy Spirit, Expansion), Completion (Resurrection, Heaven). He introduced the way to share the gospel practically so it brought a warm connection with the participants.
In the second special lecture themed ‘Work with Passion’ he said, “In this era, there are many big changes and many challenges that seem unresolvable. We need to remember when we are overwhelmed by these challenges there a choice to overcome them and break though. If we look at the challenges it is overwhelming. When we think about God who is greater than the problems and focus on His power, we can overcome all of the challenges. Churches need passion and community spirit. Let’s change the world by saying a warm words to others, pastors, and believers.”
Last year, President Chang was designated as President of the 4/14 Window Movement of Korea “To gather at the same place with pastor’s wives and missionaries who are playing an important role at churches is an honor. We need to seek God’s countermeasures to overcome daunting challenges the next generation is facing by working with families, schools and churches. Handong Global University will do our given role. ,” he said. The 4/14 Window Movement seeks to nurture the next generation of Christian leaders who have godly character and spirituality by reviving their passion for the evangelism of youth from 4 to 14 years old.
