From May 24 to June 16, HGU LINC held an Internet Academy of Things for businessmen in Pohang for four hours, every Tuesday and Thursday, at POSCO Human Resource Center.
The Internet Academy of Things means ‘an environment providing services to human by sharing information between connect ions to form a network. In 1990, no one imagined the effect of the World Wide Web as it is today. The World Wide Web will bring infinite industrial innovation.
The participants were common businessmen who had interest in bringing work innovation and developing a new business model by utilizing IoT. Lectures were given on the basic concept s of IoT , the new business model as well as project processes and practices. Various sensors, actuator control s, and mini projects were shown using Arduino.
Director Kwangho Yoo said, “This was a good opportunity to learn IoT, the new trend of our local industry, with my colleagues.” Also, according to Executive Director Byeong-young Kim, “This course was required training for those who plan projects and make decisions.”
This training course was co-hosted by the HGU LINC and POSCO Human Resource Center . The participants were highly satisfied because they were training in neat and comfortable environment.
According to the Head of LINC, Ki-seok Kim, “Local industry faces difficulties due to the downturn of the steel economy. The IoT academy will continue to be promoted as a good model of academy-industry cooperation seeking a new growth engine for the Gyoungsangbukdo Province.”
