On June 9, the Educational Donations Center of Gyungsang Province, HGU, had a briefing session on educational donations at Daegaya Hall, Goryung, Gyeongsangbukdo to seventy members of the Goryung Country Commerce and Industry Council.

The Center hosted this session in order to introduce educational donations that are increasing as social contribution activities by enterprises. In addition, various pieces of information and opinions were exchanged by introducing the methods to participate as an enterprise.

Researcher Duru Kim introduced: the concept and type of educational donations, the Educational Donations Center of Gyungsang Province, HGU, activities for social contributions by of enterprises, examples of educational donation organizations in Gyeongsang Province, and participants in educational donations.

Professor Sookhee Jung, the Head of the Center, said, “I hope this event will serve as an opportunity to gain momentum from many businesses and enterprises. I hope they will actively join the educational donation culture.”  

The Educational Donation Center of Gyeongsang Province, Handong Global University was established in July 2014 at HGU. The Center has four goals; 1. Activation of educational donations, 2. Support for the free semester system, 3. Dissemination educational donation programs, and 4. Creation of an educational donation culture at the regional level. This culture will develop by adding new education donation participatory institutions and individual educational donors, customized programs, by operating pilot schools using educational donations, and by developing on-site programs to meet the needs.
