On May 3, 2016, on the second floor of the Pohang Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Handong Global University and the Pohang Chamber of Commerce & Industry signed a mutual exchange  agreement for academy and industry cooperation. Eight people attended including President Soon-heung Chang of Handong Global University and President Kwangsu Yoon of the Pohang Chamber of Commerce & Industry.

Both institutions mutually agreed to promote joint research and cooperation in academic technology, to support regional interpretation and translation services, to support the participation of on-site practices, and to maximize employment opportunities for excellent regional human talents.

“I look forward to our students having more interest in local issues and more participation in project-based courses or on-site field oriented courses. With these practical courses, I expect that students can nurture their problem-finding and problem-solving competency by considering the ways to find problems, reasons, and by developing countermeasures,” said President Soon-heung Chang.

According to President Kwangsu Yoon of the Pohang Chamber of Commerce & Industry, “I sincerely hope that both institutions will actively exchange in academic-industry cooperation with this agreement. Now they can serve as partners to take the lead in regional economic development through an organic cooperation system.”
