On March 22, 2016, Prof. Jaeyoung Lee, the Head of the CK Specialization Projects was conferred a citation by the Deputy Prime Minister-Minister of Education in recognition of his contributions to university specialization.

The CK Specialization Projects suggest a new model of converged education in the fields of technology and technology- law by collaborating with the School of Mechanical & Control Engineering, the School of Spatial Environment System Engineering, Handong International Law School and the School of Chemical Engineering at POSTECH.
Furthermore, this establishes a cooperating system that promotes exchange in regional industries, human resources, knowledge, and technical support through the education of joint projects between university and industry to revitalize the local economy. Based on these efforts, both schools aim to nurture human resources to resolve current regional issues and meet the regional industry demands.
The best example is the promotion of undergraduate school student's participation projects dealing with current issues of local enterprises through agreements with several local enterprises. As a result, undergraduate students are achieving excellent results such as the publication of an SCI level paper, a patent application, and presentations in domestic and international academic conferences. In addition, the current issues and challenges of the enterprises are shared with academic-industry experts and academic-industry collaboration courses in process as graduation research projects.
To nurture job linked practical human resources is one of the efforts. Educational tracks are nurturing professional research talents with converged skills in multiple areas of knowledge by establishing agreements with automobile companies. Specialized education in the fields of energy and the environment has been successful. The employment rate has been dramatically increased. Students are entering outstanding companies such as: Hyundai Automobile, Hyundai Heavy Industries, Korea Hydro Nuclear Power Co, Ltd, Samsung Heavy Industries, Hankook Tire, and Korea Electronic Power Corporation.
The Head of the CK Specialization Projects, Prof. Jaeyoung Lee, said, "We will faithfully promote converged human talents in the fields of energy and the environment by cross-training them in machines, controls, construction, technology and the law by promoting CK projects with HGU and POSTECH."
HGU and POSTECH were both designated as the 'Foundation for Nurturing Converged Human Resources in the Fields of Sustainable Energy, the Environment, and the law in Gyeongbuk Province and the Eastern Sea. This five year project received 10 billion won in funding for five years, by the Ministry of Education and the National Research Foundation of Korea.
Prof. Jaeyoung Lee has been serving in various posts: the Head of the CK Specialization Projects, the Dean of Future Technology Research Office, and the Head of Academic and Industry Cooperation.
