Entrepreneurship Training at Zimbabwe

Handong Global University hosted 'Entrepreneurship Education Program' for 100 people including intellectuals of Zimbabwe for one week from Jan 24 to 30, 2016 at Harare Institute of Technology, Harare, Zimbabwe. 

The program has initiated since 2008 by Handong Global University as a host university of UNESCO UNITWIN and has nurtured more than 2,000 people during fifteen times of courses at Korea, Kenya, Mongolia, Cambodia, Ghana, Peru, Laos, and Ethiopia.


This program is entrepreneurship nurturing course that creates something from nothing for students, graduate students, professor, NGO related staff, professionals, businessman, and public officers of the developing countries.

The program aims to raise people's awareness to be the main players of the economic development and supports to operate companies transparent and honest.  
 
The courses are consists of the way of thinking in the spirit of entrepreneurship, implication of entrepreneurship and creative innovation, finance, accounting, capital creation, start-ups and efficient project plan, law and ethics of entrepreneurship, intellectual property right, multinational enterprises, business communication, and marketing.

The detailed schedules are lecture from 8:30 to 16, small group activities from 16:30, and group presentation from 20 to 22.  
During the ‘Culture Night’, the participants build their relationships and had a time to understand and communicate each other by joining traditional costume show, traditional music and dance, and talent show.

On the last day, presentation competition on business plan was hosted and each group delivered their presentation, and three best groups were selected.

In addition, for two days from February 1 to 2, HGU provided ‘Youth Entrepreneurship Course’ for seventy high school students, who will be the main players of economic development in the next generation, in Zimbabwe by working with Harare Institute of Technology.

UNESCO-UNITWIN was established in 1992 by the UNESCO to facilitate cooperation and collaboration among universities, institutions and various organizations of developing and developed countries in a network to improve the availability of educational resources and opportunities and promote educational excellence in developing countries.

The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) designated Handong Global University (HGU), Pohang, Republic of Korea, as the host university for UNESCO UNITWIN Network for Capacity Building for Sustainable Development of Developing Countries in the Asia Region.

As of today, forty universities and institutions of twenty two countries are participating as partners. (Cambodia, Mongolia, Thailand, Vietnam, Kenya, Peru, Ghana, and Rwanda, etc)
