Last February 4, 2015, at All Nations Hall, Foundation for Nurturing Talents, Converged with Sustainable Energy and the Environment in Gyeonguk Province and the East Sea had publication ceremony of academic journal titled ‘Energy, Environment, Technology and Law’
In this event, fifteen professors and twenty undergraduate school students of School of Mechanical & Control Engineering, School of Special Environment System Engineering, and School of Law were joined. The ceremony was initiated with opening remarks by Professor Eunseok Baek, Handong International Law School and congratulatory remarks by Professor Enju Shin, School of Law. The Head of the Foundation, Prof. Jaeyoung Lee conferred letter of appointment in chief editor to Professor Haeshin Cho, School of Law and greetings, introduction of academic journal, etc. were followed.
The academic journal deals with legal approaches regarding energy and environment related technologies released by the ‘Converged Pilot Center in Technology and Law’, a center under the Foundation. In particular, this first issue covered constitutional approaches and international laws on nuclear power under the theme of safety of nuclear industry. Six articles were released by nuclear power experts in law and administration department including Professor Kookun Lee.
In particular, the published journal will be utilized in various ways as sub-materials during the convergence courses between technology and law at HGU. In addition, the Foundation is operating converged education on technology(energy system convergence education track, eco-space convergence education track) and converged education on technology and law( nurturing program for intellectual property rights.
The Head of the Foundation, Prof. Jaeyoung Lee mentioned that “The publish of this academic journal aims to academic discussion to establish healthy society with legal reasoning in the fields of energy and environment that are sharply co-existing with development and protection. The first step is to enhance the contents and methods in the prolonged dispute in these fields. I firmly believe that the reasonable agreement in energy and environment fields will be made. My goal is to publish based academic papers that will be used for a long term by releasing excellent papers that are written from the experts in the fields of technology and law. “
