On January 19, 2016, 271 students from 66 high schools in Daegu, Gyeongbuk, and Ulsan came to HGU. Handong Global University operated a program for participants to experience various majors.
The Admissions Officer Team of HGU has operated this program every winter as part of the Higher Education Normalization Supportive Project. The event provides experience oriented programs by connecting majors and students. Participants choose two majors that they have interest in exploring. The twelve majors draw students’ attention by providing a variety of experiences such as: 'Programming Learned using a Coding Block', 'Youth Mock UN', 'Mock Judgement', 'Stewardship Spirit, Investments, and Fund Managers'.
Yoael Shin who participated in the program said, "When it came to my dream, it was vague. Now, after joining this program, I was able to consider my dream with seniors, brothers and sisters. In particular, through the major-orientation program, I can now choose my major easily."
Yerlim Jang said, "I came here with my friends to experience my major in advance. It was a fruitful and interesting time to have a taste of my major before starting university."
The Dean of Admissions and Human Resource Development, Prof. Yanggyu Jae, mentioned "Handong Global University prepares programs every year in order for prospective students to experience various majors before choosing their future career and university major. We will continue to expand and provide more support to normalize higher education."
