On January 28, Handong Global University announced that Taewan Kim and Seungtae Kim of HGU received the 'Grand Prize' in the 1st CJ Korea Express New Technology and New Project Contest.

The contest was hosted by the Seoul Creative Economic Innovation Center and organized by the CJ Korea Express Comprehensive Logistic Research Institute. It was supported by the Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning, the city of Seoul, the Korean Integrated Logistics Association, the Start-ups Forum, and the Korean Youth Logistics Forum.

Both students created their project for the new project sector. They planned a nationwide delivery channel platform to deliver customer's items to their destination rapidly. The students were aware that there was no nationwide logistic networking platform in this era of overnight rapid delivery service.

The students reflected the trend of the logistics market: overnight deliveries and quick delivery service. Their marketability was highly rated, to meet the logistical demands and realistic business models, by the evaluators.

Student Taewan Kim said, "This idea comes from Professor Incheol Ryu's, Global Edison Academy class. In particular, my thanks go to Professor Ryu for giving insights and ideas for drafting the paper."

Both students were given 3 million won (about $3,000) of prize money. In addition, various opportunities and systematic support to start-up this idea will be provided.

This July, there will be a display of ideas and these two students will participate in the program that accelerates and develops excellent venture enterprises.
