On December 11, President Soon-heung Chang awarded a certificate of appointment to the first Handong Ambassadors.
Handong Global University awarded a certificate of appointment to the first Handong Ambassadors.
The Honorary Ambassadors consist of foreign undergraduate students and exchange students who completed a course at Handong and have introduced Handong to others revitalizing the alumni network.
The first 1st Handong Ambassadors were a variety of students. Four were undergraduate school graduates, two were from the Graduate School of International Development Cooperation, and seven were exchange students. They came from ten countries: the U.K, the U.S, Netherlands, Japan, Zimbabwe, Ghana, Peru, Pakistan, Indonesia, and the Philippines.
Elim Kim from the Office of General Affairs, said, “I could witness the participants’ love with their active passion as Handong Ambassadors.”
Josep Wobas who majored in Life Science is from the Philippines. He said, “I am so proud of my school nurturing Christian global leaders to change the world. When I return to the Philippines, I would like to actively promote my school, Handong Global University.”
According to Katy Anderson, an exchange student from the U.S, “Handong Global University is a place to develop myself. I would like to inform other students and encourage them to take the opportunity to study at HGU based on my experience here.”
After conferring the certificate of appointment, President Soon-heung Chang said, “Please be the global leader who has a sense of loyalty to Korea. Each of you are the representative of Handong in your country.”
The Handong Ambassadors will promote HGU by hosting a brief session on Handong Global University entrance and their experiences as exchange students. They will also providing various school life information.
The Dean of International Affairs, Jaechun Won said, “With the first designation of Handong Ambassador, we now have a promotion program for HGU contributing to revitalization of the foreign graduates and advertising in foreign countries.”
