The Foundation of LINC, HGU Hosted the ‘2015 ICT Convergence Conference’

Handong Global University hosted the ‘2015 ICT Convergence Conference’ ‘K-ICT Convergence to Build a Creative Economy’. 

This conference was hosted at the headquarters of the National Assembly on December 9, 2015. It was co-hosted by the LINC Foundation, HGU and the Korea ICT Convergence Technology Association. There were 150 participants including HGU faculty, professors, and distinguished guests. 

This conference heightened the importance of IT convergence industries including the internet, big data, cloud computing, Fintech, Smart Factory and Prompt Responses in the IT industry. 

President Soon-heung Chang mentioned that “In order for Korea’s ICT industry to enter the global market  Korea must figure out the trends of the ICT market and respond to the trend rapidly.” 

The Head of the Foundation, Ki-suk Kim mentioned “This venue will serve as an opportunity to determine the next steps of the ICT industry. It will be the new growth engine, promote policy projects to nurturing Korean talent on the national level so Korea can contribute to the world’s best IT powerhouse. ICT convergence can create various models to initiate new forms of academic and industry collaboration in this field. In particular, in Pohang and Gyeongbuk Province, new models of academic and industry collaboration will be formed.”
