International Area Studies Major, English Major
The School of International Studies, Languages and Literature strives to meet the various needs and demands of the nation, Northeast Asia, and ultimately the world in this 21st century, where multi-faceted expertise is required, by equipping students with integrated insight through learning and intellectual training rooted in an Evangelical Christian worldview.
Curriculum
International Area Studies and English are offered as integrated majors. Courses such as International Political Economics, Comparative Politics, Methodology of Area Studies, and Global Governance are offered for International Area Studies majors while English majors explore courses in British and American Novels, Languages and Information Training, Introduction to Interpretation, Media Translation, British and American Drama, Simultaneous Interpretation, Media English, International Conference Practice and more.
Career Prospects
By offering an integrated education in International Area Studies and English, the School aims for its students to develop their gifts and discover their different callings (vocations) so they can continue to pursue them in an effective manner. Graduates find careers not only in corporations but also in international organizations, diplomacy, interpretation, translation, international business and general academia.
